I was going to recommend Fade to Blonde by Max Phillips. But, since I was the only who ever checked the book out I ended up withdrawing it from the collection just a few weeks ago.

Lords of the Ring by Doug Moe. The University of Wisconsin had one of the best NCAA boxing teams and won numerous team and individual championships. Until April, 1960 when Badger boxer Charlie Mohr was killed from punch in the ring in the NCAA title bout. Shortly after Mohr's death the NCAA eliminated boxing from competition. Moe follows the tale by speaking to former Badger boxers, coaches, and even Mohr's surgeon. Article from 1960.
