Three Novels and a Replacement CD

Fiction

Chasing the Night by Iris Johansen. Johansen's back flyleaf bio says she lives near Atlanta. Her hairstyle agrees.

In the Company of Others by Jan Karon. Am I the only one who always mistakenly thinks Jan is a guy? This is a "Father Tim novel".

Worth Dying For by Lee Child. A new Jack Reacher novel. Reacher will wander, find trouble, find a hot chick, find a bad guy, find a violent resolution. I hear Lee Child can snap a man's neck like a twig.

Replacement CD

Appetite for Destruction by Guns n' Roses. Our last one broke. I have never understood the fascination with and popularity of this band.

Musical Interlude

The Clash play a song. CD available at the library.

A Gun Book and Richard Thompson CD? How odd. We never get gun books and Thompson CDs.

NonFiction

Gunsmithing the AR-15 by Patrick Sweeney. Maintaining, repairing and accessorizing. I lost some faith in Sweeney after reading some diatribe he included in Big Fat Book of the .45 about how he believes lead exposure dangers has been overblown. But, I still like this book and trust his mechanical knowledge. The photo illustrations are quite helpful. Not that I would know. Not that I have been saving and saving and saving money for an AR.

Music on CD

Dream Attic by Richard Thompson. Live recordings. Thompson will be playing in Milwaukee. Or maybe he played already. I would like to go but do think I will be able to.

DVD

Aldo Leopold at Faville Grove, Recollections of Ado Leopold and Interview with Fram Hamerstorn. "The beginnings of prairie preservation and restoration" which began in the '30s outside Lake Mills. All on the same DVD.
