Bunch of Books

Fiction

Salt Houses by Hala Alyan. Soemthing about something. Alyan has a sharp author photo. Photographer was Beowulf Sheehan. Not many people around named Beowulf.

Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue.

16th Seduction by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro.

Borne by Jeff Vandermeer. Woman in abandoned and ruined city has a huge bear to deal with. Vndermeer's author photo is black and white and not as nice as Alyan's. Vandermeer's bio says he grew up in Fiji. My trip to Fiji in 1992 was only ok.

Walking on my Grave by Carolyn Hart. We have a lot of books by Hart. I rate her author photo above Vandermeer but below Alyan.

The Spy by Paulo Coehlo. Coehlo is a big deal, right? I cannot recall his previous titles. Let's check... No title sticks out but Coehlo has written a lot of novels. Unfortunately there is no pronunciation guide for her name. That's right, I wrote "her" because I kept reading this at 'Paula'.

The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova. I wanted to read Kostova's previous novels but have not yet done so. She writes think novels. Kostova has a decent photo but I am surprised she does not have a bigger photo on the back because I figure her for being very well known.

Against All Hands by Danielle Steel. Another romance I suppose.

Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. Hawkins hit the big time with The Girl on the Train so expect this to be popular.

Trajectory by Richard Russo. I've never read a Russo novel. I have seen a couple movies based off his novels.

NonFiction

Thousand-Miler: adventures hiking the Ice Age Trail by Melanie Radzicki McManus. The Ice Age Trail runs through Wisconsin and MCManus completed the 1,000 miles in 36 days. 27 miles a day? For 36 days? That must be a typo. Read the book and find out.

Three Flicks

DVD

La La Land starring Hey, Girl and Emma Stone. Something about singing and dancing. I've not seen this.

Don't Think Twice starring Keegan Michael Key and [other actors]. Member of a sketch comedy team hits the big time as a solo act. Man's former partners worry if they will ever hit success.

White Girl starring Morgan Saylor [no relation] and Chris Noth. Party girl in college gets street dealer boyfriend and he goes to jail.
