New DVDs

The Woods starring Agnes Bruckner, Patricia Clarkson and Bruce Campbell. Falburn Academy's newest student Heather hears voices. Heather's fellow students start to disappear into the woods and Heather "receives an education in terror."

The House of Sand starring Fernando Montenegro and Fernanda Torres. Aurea's husband settles Aurea and her elderly mother in Northern Brazil to start a farm. After her husband dies Aurea is unable to cross the massive, coastal sand dunes with her elderly mother and makes her home in the dunes.

The Education of Shelby Knox: Sex, Lies and Education. Shelby starting pressing for realistic sexuality education in her Lubbock, TX high school and opened a can of worms about abstinence, birth control, and religion.

Black Dahlia starring Josh Hartnett, Hilary Swank, Aaron Eckhart, and Scarlet Johansson. Based on the novel by James Ellroy which, in turn, was based on the infamous 1947 murder of Elizabeth Short. Two LAPD detectives become obsessed with the dead end case as one of them follows a twisted path to reveal the murderer.

Ask the Dust starring Colin Farrell and Salma Hayek. Italian writer Arturo Bandini travels to Depression era L.A. and meets Mexican barmaid Camilla who is in search of a rich American to establish herself herself in the Anglo world.

The Five Obstructions with Jorgen Leth and Lars von Trier. In 1967 Leth made a 12 minute movie called The Perfect Human. In 2003 von Trier challenges his idol Leth to remake the film under five special conditions - five obstructions. Von Trier's challenges include: 1) remaking the film in Cuba with no more than 12 frames per shot and 2) filming in the worst place in the world without showing that place on screen.

World Trade Center starring Nicolas Cage, Michael Pena and Maggie Gyllenhaal. True story of Port Authority policemen buried in the rubble of the World Trade Center.

Invincible starring Mark Wahlberg and Greg Kinnear. Thirty year old bartender Vince Papale hears of Philadelphia Eagles' Coach Dick Vermeil's open tryout offer and gives it a go. Inspired by a true story.

The Dark starring Maria Bello and Sean Bean. James and Adele continue to search for the body of their daughter off the coast of Wales. When a strange girl says Adele is looking in the wrong place Adele recalls the Celtic legend of the Land of Dead and is convinced she can trade herself for her daughter.

Miami Vice starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. Theatrical version of the television program.

Underworld Evolution starring Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman. A replacement for our damaged version.
