The Onion, racial history, goth chicks, a DVD

DVD

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End starring Kiera Knightley and some dudes. A couple months ago I watched number two in this series and what a mess that picture was. I'm not going to bother with this one unless there is an easy way to fast forward to all the Kiera Knightley and Chow Yun Fat scenes.

One Drop: my father's hidden life--a story of race and family secrets by Bliss Broyard. Anatole Broyard and his family passed as black once his family moved from New Orleans to New York in the 1920s. Anatole became a literary critic and raised his family in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Bliss and her brother Todd were only told the secret of their father's heritage two months before Anatole's death by cancer. Bliss traces her father's, and the family's, history.

Dyslexia: how to survive and succeed at work by Dr. Sylvia Moody. Covering work organization, time management, writing skills, dealing with emotions. I thought of maybe putting in a dyslexia joke but decided that would be unkind.

The kid-free Viorst household is turned upside down. I tried to think of some Alexander jokes but could not.
