27 Dresses starring Katherine Heigl. Heigl is some tv star on Grey's Anatomy. Heigl plays a gal who is always a bridesmaid and then sets her sights on her boss. Chick movie.

Lost Highway starring Bill Pullman, Patrica Arquette, Robert Blake. Jacob the Page's incessant blather about David Lynch motivated me to purchase this one. "Haunting sexuality, ricochet action and fleeting, murderous shadows await you on a journey that begins and ends on the Lost Highway."
If you like this one you can try out Inland Empire, Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, and Mulholland Dr. I suppose I shouldn't blame the Page.

Phantom Prey by John Sanford. Lucas Davenport investigates a missing persons case. According to What's Next this is the 18th title in the series.

Secrets by Jude Deveraux. Cassandra has loved Jeff since she was twelve. She dumps her fiance, takes a job as Jeff's nanny and investigates shots at a reclusive actress's home.

Child 44 by Tim Rob Smith. War hero policeman Leo upsets in his bosses in Stalinist era Moscow and is sent to a remote Siberian town. Already in trouble, Leo suspects a serial killer is on the loose. According to government decree serial killers do not exist. Leo gets in more trouble. A very well reviewed novel.

All Souls by Christine Schutt. Popular senior girl Astra at Manhattan's Siddons School has fallen deathly ill. The rest of the high school finds ways to cope with the sudden and upsetting news.

Sleeping Dogs by Ed Gorman. Political consultant Dev is working on an Illinios Senator's re-election campaign. Dev needs to research the campaign staff's backgrounds and finds disturbing information and the Senator may be at the center. A political mystery novel.

Betrayed by J.M. Windle. Anthropologist Vicki is studying Guatemalan garbage pickers when she finds the corpse of her estranged sister, Holly. "What betrayal connects Holly's murder, the recent massacre of a Mayan village, and the long-ago deaths of Vicki's own parents?"
