Golden Compass starring Nicole Kidman, James Bond, armored polar bear. Some kid's book made into a movie. Oh, I'm mistaken, it is "a wondrous parallel world...special girl...fate of the universe...discovers her world is threatened...Nicole Kidman...unlikely allies...embarks...extraordinary quest...courage against all odds."

NonFiction

Sex and Bacon: why I love things that are very, very bad for me by Sarah Katherine Lewis. "Lewis exposes all that is deliciously nasty and delectably uncouth when it comes to her bountiful appetite. Sex and Bacon is about the intersection of food and sex - how food makes you feel, how lust makes you feel, and how similar those two appetites can be."

Moment of Truth in Iraq by Michael Yon. Photojournalist/blogger Yon has probably spent as much time in Iraq as most soldiers. A ground level, infantry eyed look at action in Iraq and the reasons to have faith in the U.S. military and the progress they have made.

DVD

27 Dresses starring Katherine Heigl. Heigl is some tv star on Grey's Anatomy. Heigl plays a gal who is always a bridesmaid and then sets her sights on her boss. Chick movie.

Lost Highway starring Bill Pullman, Patrica Arquette, Robert Blake. Jacob the Page's incessant blather about David Lynch motivated me to purchase this one. "Haunting sexuality, ricochet action and fleeting, murderous shadows await you on a journey that begins and ends on the Lost Highway."
If you like this one you can try out Inland Empire, Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, and Mulholland Dr. I suppose I shouldn't blame the Page.
