Seven

One
Argo: how the CIA and Hollywood pulled off the most audacious rescue in history by Antonio Mendez and Matt Baglio.  Ben Affleck directed the movie so you can probably read the book faster than watch the flick.

Two
Dog Stars by Peter Heller.  The flyleaf says, "riveting, powerful, against all odds, grace, dead, abandoned, misanthrope, sneaks, transmissions, deep, beyond, risking, fuel, narrated, savagely, talking."

Three
Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers.  Soldiers are buddies since basic training and fight insurgents and reality in Iraq. EDIT: someone Googled there way here.  I did the same search and found this author interview of C-SPAN: http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/AuthorK

Four
Bridesmaid by Beverly Lewis.  The cover illustration says "Amish girl is lonely."

Five
Telegraph Avenue by Michael Chabon.  The flyleaf says, "The great American novel we have been waiting for."  I say, "What nitwit wrote the flyleaf?"

Six
Delusion in Death by JD Robb.  These in death.  Titles in death.  Write in death.  Themselves in death.

Seven
A Sunless Sea by Anne Perry.  William Monk is in charge of the River Police.  I hope this is better than that awful Pittsburgh river cop movie with Bruce Willis and Sarah Jessica Parker.
