Indigenous Cheeseheads

Mothers and Daughters by Rae Meadows.  Young mom finds some of her dead mom's belongings and "discovers links to pieces of her family history but is puzzled by much of the information the box contains" including her grandmother catching an Orphan Train from New York.  Madison.

Bird Sisters by Rebecca Rasmussen.  Young twin girls Milly and Twiss live in Spring Green, WI during the summer of '47.  Their golf pro father is injured and unable to gold, the mom says they will stay poor, and cousin Bett comes to visit.  Spring Green.

The Long Way Home by Karen McQuestion.  35-year-old Marnie's boyfriend keels over from a heart attack.  Marnie raised the boyfriend's son, Troy, but now his rotten birth mother takes him away.  Friends from Marnie's grief counseling group travel with her to Las Vegas to visit Troy. (I originally typed that as Las Begas.  I'd visit a town called Las Begas.)  Milwaukee.

Healing the Heart of Democracy: the courage to create a politics worthy of the human spirit by Parker J. Palmer.  Why does the cover list his name like this: Parker J. PALMER?  Why the upper case?  Madison.
