Executions and Bodies

Fiction

I Am An Executioner: love stories by Rajesh Parameswaran.  This had a nice review.  Nine stories that are "wildly original...riotous" including "the newlywed executioner of the title."

Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel.  Sequel to the popular novel Wolf Hall.  Thomas Cromwell has to scheme to get Anne Boleyn executed so Henry VIII can try to impregnate someone else.

Large Print

Harbor Nocturne by Joseph Wambaugh.  More comic crime from set in Los Angeles.

Rescue Me by Rachel Gibson.  Cover photo has girl in pink sun dress and cowboy boots standing between train tracks and holding a large, old, bluer suitcase.  Her head is cropped out.  Flyleaf says, "unmarried...stuffed...bridesmaid...dental...Lovett, Texas...hard-muscled...stranger...SEAL...small town..."

Soldier's Wife by Joanna Trollope.  British Army Major adjusts to life at home after Afghanistan.

Conspiracy of Friends by Alexander McCall Smith.  Small dog on the cover.

Big Sky Country by Linda Lael Miller.  Cover has a guy wearing a cowboy hat, his head lowered, as the rubs a horse's nose.  Mountains, trees, stream are photoshopped into the background.
