Autism Audio with the Spider Cobra

Audio Book on CD

The Winter of Frankie Machine by Don Winslow. 8 CDs at 9 hours. Bait shack owner Frank is a former surf-bum and respected man in San Diego. He's also a former paid killer for the West Coast mob. A current mob boss demands Frankie's services.

Sidetracked by Henning Mankell. 12 CDs at 14.5 hours. Swedish cop Wallender witnesses a self-immolation by a teenage girl then investigates the murder of a former minister of justice who may have been killed by a serial killer.

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Audio version of the popular YA novel.

Large Print

The Cobra by Frederick Forsyth. Remember that awful Stallone movie? No the other one. No, the one entitled Cobra. Yeah, that one.

Spider Bones by Kathy Reichs. I always wanted to enjoy and read these books ever since I first read they were partly set in Montreal (see my previous blather). I tried reading the first in the series, Deja Dead, but I read something that made me shut the book and never return.

NonFiction

Islands of Genius: the bountiful mind of the autistic, acquired, and sudden savant by Darold A. Treffert. There are a number of autistic kids in the Lake Mills area. Or, at least all the families that do have autistic kids use the library and check out books on the topic. This book covers the phenomena of savants and the different people it effects, including some autistics.
